Lynchburg MetroCru Ministry Director
My relationship with Peter Moore began when he hired me to work for FOCUS doing development and communications in the Fall of 2006. Shortly after I started working with him I realized how amazing he was. His incredible passion for ministry, his willingness to learn even though he knew so much more than I did, and most of all his relationship with God are a few of the reasons I'm thankful to work with him.
Most of our conversations were over the phone but when we did get to connect in person at board meetings, staff meetings he was always a delight. One example of his humility was he asked for my help with social media at one point and then I setup his Facebook account for him. As I moved on to another ministry and Peter transitioned Dan Walker into the executive director role, we continued to connect over email and social media. Peter would send me updates and encouraging notes about the ministry I was doing. He was a faithful prayer partner and financial supporter of my ministry for the last 12 years.
One story that has always stuck with me is when Peter told me about how he was buying up copies of one of his old books and when he received one of those copies, it was the one he had inscribed to his father. God has a way of bringing things back to us and that was a neat story of that.
What most inspired me about Peter was he never stopped working for the Lord. Peter continued to serve, write and minister to countless number of people in his later years. I hope to live my life for God as Peter did: to never stop bringing the Gospel to people until I leave this earth.
Thank you Peter for your friendship for the last 14 years. I was so blessed by it!
