I am very saddened at the loss of my Uncle Peter. He was the only brother of my Dad, Eric Moore. Though we always lived in different states, my 2 sisters and I were always excited to see him when he’d stop to visit on occasion. He was a kind and thoughtful Uncle who knew of my love for Narnia and gifted me with the full 7 book collection when I was a girl. I’ve loved C.S. Lewis ever since.

At a later time I’ll always treasure the time he took his shy, awkward, teenaged niece on the ferry to the Vineyard for an unforgettable stay at the FOCUS study center. There, in the time of the “Jesus Movement.” I learned that Christ followers came in all types and young people, like I, were hungry for truth and answers. I remember songs such as, “If I Have Not Charity” and “The All Day Song” sung outside under the stars with guitar back-up. It was a gift to have him officiate our wedding in 1981.

Blessings and comfort to my extended family at this sorrowful time. I’ll rejoice to see him when I get to where’s he’s gone.
